The old label was too easy to misunderstand. The new standard is clearer: American origin must be real, documented, and traceable.

The USDA says the voluntary Product of USA label is for meat, poultry, and egg products from animals born, raised, harvested, and processed in the United States.

KISS version: If the animal or product chain is not fully American, do not call it Product of USA.

What changed?

  • Buyers, distributors, and regulators can ask for proof.
